Built in the early 60's, Cinema Jenin was considered to be one of the largest and most impressive cinemas in Palestine. Hundreds of people attended it daily to watch films from the Arab world. Later on, it started presenting action films and American B movies until it was closed with the break of the first Intifada in 1987. Since then, the cinema was only used occasionally to hold weddings and other events.

This is an unknown chapter of the „Operation Barbarossa“, Hitlers invasion of Russia. In winter 1942 the German “Blitzkrieg was over. Hitlers troops were stucked in the mud of the Russian winter. Their supply-lines were cut. Support could come only from the Black Sea, which was completely under the rule of the Soviet fleet. One of the most secret WWII operations was put in action. |
