Filmperspektive GmbH
is a film production company based in Stuttgart, Germany, founded by Achim Johne (line producer) and Marcus Vetter (director) in 2001. Our goal is to create a platform for the independent production of documentaries and fiction films. We are interested in feature length films with a strong author signature. Whether historical or contemporary, they should be characterized by high quality filmmaking and should tell a story that people throughout the world can relate to.
We are also interested in films we call SIGNS OF THE TIME. These are films with powerful, edgy, provocative, contemporary subject matter that, in our opinion, MUST be seen because of their political or social relevance. Our vision is to create a network of filmmakers and commissioning editors around the globe who believe, like we do, that films do make a difference.
Marcus Vetter has directed numerous prime time documentaries and received the Adolf Grimme Award - ‘Germany’s Emmy’ - three times. His feature documentary “THE TUNNEL” about a group of Germans who escaped from East Berlin to West Berlin in 1962 has been one of the best-selling German documentaries in recent years. His feature length documentary, “MY FATHER, THE TURK”, about the journey to his Turkish father he had never seen before, has recently won the 2007 Golden Gate Award in San Francisco.
